College Counseling Institute at KIPP

The College Counseling Institute at KIPP (CCI) brings together diverse cohorts of district leaders from across the country to learn, develop, and reflect on postsecondary counseling practices.

Program Details

Our North Star and main goal for the CCI is to create a space for cohort members to learn from, collaborate, and share resources with others on postsecondary practices.

The CCI occurs over four summits, each of which dive into sharing practices and resources that move the needle in college access by sharing our KIPP frameworks. Some of these include College Match, Fit Factors, Career Counseling, using data to improve practice, and much more. After the completion of these four summits, participating districts will have the opportunity to partner with KIPP to receive guidance and coaching to implement a systems-change project in their districts based on practices and learnings from the institute.

  • Summit I: February 24th (Virtual)

Cohort members will get an opportunity to meet and begin to create partnerships.

  • Summit II: March 24th (Virtual)

Cohort members will participate in a “Match 101” session where they’ll learn from KIPP Forward leaders on KIPP’s approach to match.

  • Summit III: April 26th-27th (In-Person, Location Pending)

Cohort members will convene to learn from our Data & Analytics team about the importance of data for postsecondary counseling, as well as get an opportunity to plan and develop a project to implement in their district.

  • Summit IV: May 24th-25th (In-Person, Location Pending)

Cohort members will engage in various sessions about making fulfilling lives possible through financial aid, career knowledge, and community engagement. They’ll continue to work on their project and get ready for implementation.
