Nubia Correa

Nubia found the power of civic engagement early on at KIPP King Collegiate High School. She joined the Martin Luther King. Jr. Center as a civic board member and traveled throughout the US to drive up voter registration. She also coached other students on social responsibility and civic engagement and met regularly with Oakland City Council Leaders. Nubia is one of 21 Youth Advisory Commission members in San Leandro, where she facilitated a community drive where over 500 blankets and toys were supplied to families in San Leandro. Nubia attended the Girls Inc. Summer Immersion Program in Alameda County and was selected as one of the national scholarship finalists for the organization. She plans to major in computer science at Stanford University.
