Leslie Locks

In the 2021-2022 school year, Leslie will be the Founding Principal of KIPP South Fulton Primary in Atlanta, Georgia. Leslie is excited to create a harmonious and joyful school. She most recently served as an Assistant Principal at KIPP STRIVE Primary School in Atlanta, Georgia and is looking forward to participating in the Fisher Fellowship in the upcoming school year.

Leslie has served in many different roles since joining the KIPP family in 2013 which includes teaching Kindergarten, Art, as well as serving as a Grade Level Chair and an Interventionist. Her leadership roles include serving as an instructional coach, a mentor teacher for the regional Teacher Fellow program, and as an Assistant Principal for the past three years.

As an Assistant Principal, Leslie’s role included coaching and developing teachers, fostering a jubilant and rigorous learning environment, leading quarterly regional professional development and serving as the school’s Lead Test Coordinator.

Leslie graduated in 2007 with her Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University in New Jersey and earned her Master’s degree in Childhood Education at Grand Canyon University in 2010. In her spare time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her twin boys, drawing, and the outdoors.
