Kaitlyn Tan

KIPP Northern California Public Schools

Kaitlyn Tan is a proud alum of KIPP King Collegiate High School. She is inspired to pursue a chemistry degree to become a crime lab analyst to fight for social justice through science. She is also inspired to conduct research that contributes to scientific advancement and benefits community health. More specifically, she is interested in learning more about how we can support the mental and physical health of the younger generation. Her passions have led her to complete an actual and guided research project alongside faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers at Stanford School of Medicine as a part of their Pediatrics Internship Program. In addition, Kaitlyn has worked with the Office of Faculty Diversity and Development to research LGBTQ+ terms in academic medical spaces.
