Chris Mahnken

Chris Mahnken began his career in education as a Teach For America corps member in Tulsa, OK where he taught general and AP chemistry at Tulsa Central High School. He moved into administration within Tulsa Public Schools, where he served as assistant principal for three years and transitioned to KIPP Tulsa in 2015. He has worked for TFA as the Oklahoma Science Content Specialist, a Curriculum Specialist, and Summer Institute principal. Chris participated in the 2013-14 KIPP School Leadership Program’s Leadership Team program while with Tulsa Public Schools and was a Miles Family Fellowship participant in 2015-2016. Chris graduated from DePauw University with a degree in psychology, and earned his M.Ed. from the University of Oklahoma where he is currently ABD for his Ed.D in educational leadership. He values a balanced lifestyle, enjoys running, playing soccer, and renovating his 1930’s home. When he is not doing those things, you can typically find him working a grill and enjoying friends.
