Accelerator Program Details
The Leadership Accelerator is a selective 2-month fellowship program that supports early and mid-career KIPP alumni in any field who have demonstrated leadership, achievement, vision, and drive in their workplaces and communities. The fellowship equips and empowers alums through:
- Virtual and In-person Professional development workshops designed by the world-renowned Center for Creative Leadership (CCL)
- Digital access to a network of alumni, professionals, and leaders
- Participation in a peer cohort
This year’s leadership accelerator fellows will participate in small pods led by CCL-certified facilitators, who are also KIPP Alums! Each pod will meet weekly once a week from June through the end of July 2024 for no more than 90 minutes each week. Leadership Accelerator fellows will then come together at the 2024 KIPP Schools Summit (KSS) in Orlando, FL for 2.5 days of programming!
Starting in July 2024 and continuing through June 2025, all fellows will have access to a digital platform where they can create personal advisory boards.
A personal advisory board goes beyond mentorship and coaching. It allows fellows to build a dream team for success who are there to call on throughout the year and see their goals through to the end.
Accelerator Fellows will also become part of our Alumni Accelerator Fellows network, which is a community of alumni who are committed to becoming world-class leaders in their field and to staying connected with KIPP Regions and KIPP Foundation to support our initiatives through volunteering and giving back to our community.
This opportunity is guaranteed this year only! Don’t miss out and make sure to apply by May 12th, 2024!

Several former fellows currently work for KIPP; however, the Alumni Leadership Accelerator program does not provide industry-specific education programming for educators. It will, however, provide you with knowledge to pursue people-management roles regardless of your industry.
If you are currently teaching or are an assistant principal at a KIPP school and you’re interested in school leadership, we suggest that you instead look into other KIPP programs like the KIPP School Leadership Program.
If you are working for a regional team or the KIPP Foundation, you may still apply, and we encourage you to be specific about how this program can help your career and leadership aspirations in ways beyond your professional relationship with KIPP.

There is no cost to fellows. Tuition, travel, lodging, food, and all materials will be paid for by the KIPP Foundation. This year, we’re asking that Accelerator Fellows give back to the Alumni community in the form of time and talent through regional associations or by connecting directly with their region to identify volunteer opportunities. We’ll share more details around this with selected Fellows prior to the end of the program.

Many applicants are not selected the first time they apply – so it is VERY common to reapply. If you have applied before and are still interested in the program, we highly encourage you to consider reapplying. The Accelerator selection team looks holistically at where you are in your career, and a lot can change in a year! By reapplying, you also demonstrate your commitment to your leadership goals.
