KIPP School Leadership Programs

Programs for Every Level of Leadership

Since 2000, the KIPP School Leadership Programs (KSLP) have been training and developing aspiring school leaders for underserved communities across the country, as well as preparing leaders at all levels of the leadership pipeline.

KSLP programs are designed to provide development appropriate and rigorous programming matches for participants on their leadership journeys.

There are six distinct leadership development programs serving teacher leaders to current school leaders. Follow the links below to learn about each opportunity:

THE PROGRAMS

  • Fisher Fellowship: A prestigious, year-long fellowship for individuals to found and lead new KIPP schools within existing KIPP regions. Open to internal and exteral applicants.
  • Miles Family Fellowship: A prestigious, year-long fellowship that prepares participants for the Fisher Fellowship while they serve as teachers with leadership roles within a KIPP school. Open to internal and external applicants.
  • Teacher Leader:* A program for existing KIPP teachers to develop the leadership skills and competencies needed to be successful in roles such as grade level chair, department chair, and Saturday school coordinator.
  • Leadership Team:* A program for existing KIPP teachers and leadership team members to develop the skills and competencies needed to be effective in school leadership roles such as vice principal, dean, and instructional coach.
  • Principal Prep:* A program specifically tailored to prepare successor school leaders with the skills and competencies that they will need to lead an existing KIPP school.
  • Principal Development:* Professional development opportunities tailored for current KIPP school leaders who aspire to enhance their capacity as instructional leaders while deepening connections with other school and regional leaders in the KIPP network.

*Applicants must be nominated by their KIPP school or regional leader.
