The first KIPP primary school in Houston’s Sunnyside will open for the 2009 - 2010 school year. Like most KIPP schools, KIPP ZENITH Academy will open with one grade, kindergarten, and will eventually serve up to fourth grade. KIPP ZENITH will be on the same campus as KIPP Spirit College Prep, which will serve grades five through eight.
KIPP ZENITH Academy exists to instill within our children a foundation of Zest, Endurance, New ideas, Integrity, Teamwork, and Humanity, which will empower them to succeed academically, socially, physically, and spiritually to and through college and on their individual life journeys.
Support - As a network of public charter schools, KIPP schools receive the majority of their funds from state and federal governments. However, KIPP offers much more than traditional schools, including an extended school day, week and year, field trips and extracurricular activities. To provide KIPP’s unique educational program, schools rely on support from community members, parents and local foundations.
