KIPP Liberation focuses on the importance of being a life-long learner and places a strong emphasis on academics, character, and individual contribution to the community and world. The school's goal is to provide a competitive and enriching, college-preparatory education to middle school students in the Third Ward community of inner-city Houston. Students at KIPP Liberation College Prep are referred to as “the young leaders of today and the future leaders of tomorrow”. After completing the rigorous and supportive academic, intellectual, and character-building program of Liberation, students will succeed regardless of their circumstances.
The mission of KIPP Liberation College Prep is to empower students academically, intellectually, and socially, thus enabling them to succeed in top-rated high schools and colleges and contribute to the social and economic improvement of their own community and the world beyond.
Support - As a network of public charter schools, KIPP schools receive the majority of their funds from state and federal governments. However, KIPP offers much more than traditional schools, including an extended school day, week and year, field trips and extracurricular activities. To provide KIPP’s unique educational program, schools rely on support from community members, parents and local foundations.
