About

At KIPP Believe Primary, we begin with the end in mind. We address the three main factors that help first-generation college students successfully climb the mountain to and through college. By prioritizing academic readiness, community partnerships and character education, we put each and every scholar on the path to and through college. Our scholars will ultimately return to their communities to make revolutionary changes that end cycles of generational poverty.

Mision/Vision

We empower our scholars with academic knowledge, community partnership and character and value education in order to become respectful revolutionaries who advocate for social justice and ultimately succeed in ending generational poverty within their community.

Through literacy infused standards-based rigorous instruction and powerful service learning experiences, students will develop a love for learning and literacy, become involved in and take action in their own community, feel empowered to impact change and become active leaders.

Ways to Get Involved

We deeply believe we are enriched by the history and culture that is inherent in our communities and within our families. We welcome all members of our community to join us and continue supporting the beautiful children of New Orleans become the change they wish to see in the world.

Donate/Support: As a network of public charter schools, KIPP schools receive the majority of their funds from state and federal governments. However, KIPP offers much more than traditional schools, including an extended school day, week and year, field trips and extracurricular activities. To provide KIPP’s unique educational program, we rely on support from community members, parents and local foundations. To learn more about how to volunteer or make a donation, please visit the web page for KIPP Believe Primary.

Teach: What if you taught at KIPP? Education is freedom. KIPP teachers have the opportunity to impact the life outcomes of every single KIPPster everyday.

What makes teaching at KIPP unique?

• To and Through College - We are all are aligned in a common mission: getting students to and through college. With students, families, teachers, and school leaders all working together to achieve this common mission, we send 85% of KIPPsters to college, and we are working to make that figure even higher.

• Innovation and More Time - There’s no common national curriculum at KIPP: we encourage innovation and creativity in our schools and classrooms. Teachers also have more time in the day to provide students with rich learning experiences, character instruction, and field lessons.

• Celebrate Teachers - We value our teacher as professionals, and we empower them to lead, collaborate, and constantly develop in their craft. We trust teachers with the power to lead and enable them to make decisions based on the best interests of their students.

• Team and Family - At KIPP, our teachers are “on the same page.” They hold high expectations for students, both academically and behaviorally. By making no excuses and taking no shortcuts, KIPP schools are successful because the adults in the building work together to build a strong, united school culture.
