Columbus educators nominated for LifeChanger of the Year Award
ByRyan JohnstonCOLUMBUS, Ohio — KIPP Columbus Middle School’s assistant principal and one of its history teachers have been nominated for National Life Group’s 2025-2026 LifeChanger of the Year award.
The award is given to educators across the nation for making a difference in the lives of students by positively influencing their student’s lives by showing excellence and leadership.
Assistant principal Vanavia Weatherly was nominated for her focus on growth, reflection and community. Her choices as assistant principal have created a space for students to build confidence, while allowing for curiosity.
Her approach has also fostered a safe place for students to be engaged.
