New charter school for creative arts planned in Cordova

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A charter school operator plans to open a new elementary school for creative and performing arts in a converted building in Cordova.
KIPP Memphis, which operates three charter schools on two campuses on Memphis, is seeking approval to renovate part of a 50,000-square foot industrial building at 7275 Goodlett Farms Parkway, according to documents filed Friday.
The charter operator plans to open KIPP Cordova Collegiate Elementary School, a creative and performing arts-focused campus, according to the KIPP Memphis website.
“This new addition to the KIPP Memphis family reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, joyful, and culturally affirming education to even more students across the region,” KIPP stated in a news release.
