KIPP Tulsa students and Williams employees join TAUW to beautify Woodward Park
By StaffTULSA, Okla. — Students from KIPP Tulsa and Williams employees volunteered to help beautify Woodward Park for Tulsa Area United Way’s Student Day of Caring on Friday.
The event at Woodward Park was part of Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW)’s larger, region-wide Student Day of Caring which mobilized more than 380 student volunteers from six schools and youth organizations to complete 13 impactful service projects, the announcement said.
KIPP Tulsa is a funded partner of TAUW.
“Williams, which has proudly partnered with KIPP Tulsa since 2008, has donated more than $1 million each year for the past 34 years to the Tulsa Area United Way.,” TAUW said in the announcement. “This year’s Tulsa Area United Way Student Day of Caring coincides with Williams Volunteer Week.”
TAUW also said Bancfirst Insurance Services, Bank of Oklahoma, Hilti and the Tulsa Area United Way are hosting food drives aimed to address student food insecurity to show community-wide support.
