Fatherhood initiative boosts student success in school

At KIPP Tech Valley Middle School, fatherhood isn’t just celebrated — it’s welcomed into the classroom. Through the Valley Dads initiative, Principal Darryl White is building stronger bonds between students and male role models and the results are showing up in student achievement.

A recent study by All for Kids found that students with involved fathers are more likely to earn A grades and less likely to repeat a grade. At KIPP Tech Valley, regular events bring fathers and male mentors into the building, fostering a sense of community and support.
