3 KIPP Troy Prep students selected for Georgetown summer program
By StaffThree students from KIPP Troy Prep High School have been selected for a college prep program this summer at Georgetown University.
Alanis Osorio, Nasir McMillian, and Lovette Thomas are attending Georgetown’s Summer College Immersion Program (SCIP) which began on June 30 and goes until July 19. SCIP is offered to high-achieving students who are part of the KIPP Foundation school systems, the Cristo Rey Network, and other select schools, networks, and community organizations.
The students have just completed their junior year at KIPP Troy Prep High School. Osorio has attended KIPP since kindergarten and is interested in pursuing higher education opportunities at John Jay College in New York City. McMillian has attended KIPP since 6th grade and is interested in attending the New York University School of Business. Thomas hopes to study criminal psychology at Hampton University.
