Why Build an Alumni Network Now?
As KIPP's network grows, the number of alumni is growing rapidly. By 2025, KIPP will have approximately 80,000 alumni doing incredible things across the country. We've heard from alumni that they want access resources to elevate their careers, mentors in their respective fields, the ability to access other alumni, and much more! Over the next five months, the National KIPP Alumni Network will be designed by alumni to build a network that will support alumni needs.
Who is Designing the Network?
Our National Design Team includes 30 alumni and staff. This includes 17 KIPP alumni (6 who work full-time for KIPP, 11 who are paid Design Fellows) and 13 additional regional/national staff. To get a better insight into the Design Team, please click on the photos below to learn more about the 11 design fellows and their hopes for the network. They are entrepreneurs, photographers, anthropologists, coders, event planners, designers, and more.

Lead Initiative, Pecan Grove FarmsI want to be a part of designing a network that will be inclusive, diverse, and will make alumni proud to be a part of KIPP. The mission that KIPP shares is too important to stop once a student graduates.

Doctoral Candidate, University of PennsylvaniaTo me, success in an alumni community can be defined as a culture of mentorship and information exchange, interdependence especially during challenging moments, and a forum to engage and collaborate with one another. I attribute my success to the aforementioned supports I have had in different areas and networks of my life, and I want to help create this kind of alumni network for KIPPsters.

Recent Graduate School GraduateKIPP alumni come from diverse walks of life, creating a rich diversity in our goals and professional paths. As a KIPP Alumni Network Design Fellow, I want to be a voice for the students who do not feel adequately supported on the collegiate level while also being an advocate for those who choose a nontraditional path. I want to honor the diversity that exists within our community, employ ways of including such diversity, and create opportunities for leadership and action.

Strategic Capacity Specialist, Echo Global LogisticsI understand how necessary it is for us as KIPP alumni from across the country to develop a network that will be able to support the current alumni, the ever growing alumni each year, for years to come. I want to collaborate with my KIPP cousins to create a network that will allow alumni to stay connected to each other as we strive towards our goals in life, and continue to empower ourselves and our communities.

Account Receivables, Monsieur Touton SelectionI really enjoyed the KIPP Alumni summit in Texas, I was a bit hesitant at first of going. The reason for this was that I never graduated college, so I was a bit scared of how I would be judged. I thought people might not consider me the typical KIPPster, but I was wrong. I got lots of love from the KIPP staff who told me to come back to KIPP and start taking advantage of all the great opportunities the alumni network has.

Full time graduate student at San Diego State UniversityAfter attending the first alumni summit, I returned home excited for the National KIPP Alumni Network to be launched because I wanted to network with more KIPP alumni. I feel like I am apart of the KIPP movement and I would be honored to be behind the making of the national network. I hope to access and utilize the network after it is finished. Being apart of this design team will also bring me self-satisfaction because I know this network will be beneficial for other "KIPPsters" like myself.
