Saniyah Paden-Closs

KIPP New Jersey – Newark

Saniyah Paden-Closs attends Drexel University and is majoring in biomedical engineering, as her future goals include working in prosthetics to improve the quality of life for amputees. Saniyah is a member of the girls volleyball team, a current captain of the Panther Cheerleading Team, a member of the National Honor Society, and has volunteered with Solar One, where she completed design projects to improve sustainability in the City of Newark. Saniyah also participated in the Future Leaders Cohort at NCA and is honored to have been awarded the prestigious Cooperman College Scholars program. Saniyah is a proud, founding KIPP student and a member of the first graduating class at Newark Collegiate Academy to have attended KIPP since kindergarten. When Saniyah isn’t busy changing the world, she enjoys baking as a form of self-care, spending time with her family, and has an interest in learning American Sign Language.
