KIPP Public Schools Partners With Verto Education

KIPP Partners with Verto Education to Provide An Experiential First Year Abroad Program

NEW YORK, NY – APRIL 14, 2022 – KIPP Public Schools is thrilled to launch an innovative partnership with Verto Education, allowing students to start college abroad before continuing their studies on campus. Verto is awarding additional scholarship opportunities for accepted KIPP students and providing 5 full-program scholarships.

KIPP Alumni can now opt to spend their first semester or year of college in destinations like Prague, Buenos Aires, London, Dublin, and more while earning college credits that will transfer to any of Verto’s 70+ partner colleges.

Verto’s model offers a once-in-a-lifetime educational and cultural experience, combined with admission to premiere partner colleges. With Verto, students earn official college credit through experiential learning, allowing them to stay on track to graduate in four years

“Our partnership with Verto has expanded the postsecondary opportunities we offer to our alumni and gives them the chance to pursue learning around the world while continuing to make progress towards earning a degree,” said Ajuah Helton National KIPP Forward Director.

Structured around small class sizes, cultural-immersion, and project-based learning, Verto’s accredited general education courses bring subjects to life and help students gain clarity on their passions and academic interests. The most popular courses include Introduction to Business in London, Spanish language in Seville, Environmental Science in Costa Rica, and Art History in Florence.

“I was always passionate about the opportunity to study abroad and my Verto experience made my dream a reality! I was able to take classes in digital photography in a natural setting in Costa Rica and study international relations, all while taking trips to go rafting, ziplining and even getting the chance to milk cows and learn how to make cheese,” said Terriana Hanserd, KIPP Nashville Class of 2021 student and Verto scholarship recipient.

Verto students are set up for success and matched with College and Career Counselors, Academic Success Coaches, and faculty dedicated to supporting and mentoring them throughout their experience.
