Yoel Izaguirre

KIPP Texas Public Schools – Houston

Yoel is a KIPP Sharpstown College Prep alumnus from Houston, Texas. He is a thoughtful academic named to the National Honor Society and a passionate student at Chinquapin Preparatory School in Highlands, Texas. Yoel’s resume includes many leadership experiences, including serving as president of the Student Leadership Committee and a Chinquapin Ambassador for the Office of Admission. Yoel also lends his time to the Gender-Sexuality Alliance and Speech and Debate Club. Next year, Yoel will be a first-year student at Carleton College and plans to major in sociology and anthropology. As the president of the Student Leadership Committee, he is motivated to serve as a role model and mentor to young leaders. He practices the principles of restorative and transformative justice as he works with students and school administration in growing problem-solving skills. His restorative and transformative justice work allows him to promote social and organizational change.
