Shyann Gales-Poland

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools Alumna

Shyann Gales-Poland is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is an alumna of the first graduating class of KIPP Philadelphia Charter School. After KIPP, Shyann attended Freire Charter School for high school. Upon graduation, she received a full-tuition scholarship to attend Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology. For two years, she served over 3400 hours of community service through AmeriCorps, teaching and tutoring middle school students in Wilmington Delaware. Now, Shyann is a second year law student at Widener Delaware Law School in which she plans to study intellectual property and transactional law. This past summer, she had the pleasure of serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde at the Municipal Court of Philadelphia. Outside of her studies, Shyann is a proud member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority Incorporated and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
