Maya Savoy

KIPP DC Public Schools Alumna

A DC native, Maya attended KIPP DC College Preparatory. It is there where she found her love for acting and writing through the musical theater program. She aspires to major in Mass Communications and minor in Theatre at Montclair State University in order to pursue a career as a journalist while still being involved in the theater world. Her love for writing stems from her desire to inform people about what currently affects our society and the steps we can take in order to solve them. During her time in high school, she joined the student government and took on a major role as the first freshman president, all while acting in all of the school productions. She was voted “Most Spirited”, was a member of the National Honor Society, participated in the dual enrollment program at Trinity University and was a National Thespian Society recipient. Outside of school, she has spent time as a participant and group staff camp counselor for Stem Exelon.
