Adrian is an alum of KIPP Austin Brave High School in Austin, Texas. He aspires to become a Biomedical Engineer, but for the time being will focus on Computer Science at Colgate University. He is proud to be the first in his family to attend a four-year university.

Nicole is a KIPP SoCal alumna. She will be attending Franklin & Marshall College where she is excited to study psychology with the goal of becoming an adolescent therapist. She is interested in joining the school’s Black Student Union and acapella group on campus. She loves to sing, write poems, and dance. In high school, she was the co-leader of the African American Association and the African American Mentoring Program. She played varsity basketball all 4 years and was captain for 3 of those years.

Kenan Blakey

Kenan was born and raised in Kansas City and attended Rockhurst High School where he was the president of the French Club, captain of the speech and debate team, and member of the National Honors Society. During his high school career, he was a two-time state finalist in speech and debate, and qualified for three different national tournaments. He plans to pursue degrees in French and Korean with hopes of becoming a translator and immigrant lawyer.

Dorise Clark

Dorise is a KIPP Delta alumna and a graduate of her local community college, Phillips Community College at the University of Arkansas, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Biology. During her time in High School, Dorise held several leadership positions, including serving as Class President and Captain of the Volleyball team. Dorise has received recognition for her academic success, including receiving the Beyond Z Award, and being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at her local Community College. Outside of school, Dorise is involved in a mentorship program for teens called Daughters Pursuing Destiny, which focuses on encouraging teenage girls to become closer to God and to pursue their destinies. Dorise intends to become an OB/GYN and looks forward to giving back to her community by opening up her own practice and providing a safe place for youth and for pregnant women who want to stay active through opening up a local gym.

Yulianna is an alumna of KIPP LA Prep and Boyle Heights STEM Magnet High School in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. She enjoys running, staying involved in her community, and robotics. She dreams of becoming a biomedical engineer and hopes to one day get her PhD in the field. One of Yulianna’s proudest high school achievements was receiving the Excellence in Youth Leadership Award for creating the first STEM program at her local YMCA, and helping that program branch out to different sites in her community.

Born in Austin, Texas, Salvador is a KIPP Austin collegiate who plans on majoring in Biology and with aspirations to pursue a doctoral degree to become a research professor. In addition to loving art and science, he believes education is a significant factor in people’s lives that can help express creativity, innovation, individuality, and help bring great contributions to the world, something which no one should be deprived of. His experiences as the National Honor Society’s Treasurer, Science National Honor Society member, Art Club president, and KIPP Austin Steel Drum Band’s drum major allowed him to gain a sense of leadership and understanding during his time in high school, which he plans to use to make an impact on the world.

Samantha is a KIPP Generations Collegiate alumna. While at KIPP, she was top 10% of her class while holding leadership positions in several extracurricular activities. She served as the captain of her Cheerleading team, Softball team and President of the National Honor Society. In her free time, she enjoys photography, singing and spending time with family outdoors. She aspires to major in nursing and become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about advocating for her community and plans to commit to bettering the future of medical sciences.

Angela is a KIPP Austin Collegiate alumna. For the past three years, she has advocated for healthy relationships and provided resources for those who are experiencing an unhealthy relationship. She is an advocate within her community through participating in Changing Lives Youth Theater Ensemble: a nonprofit theater program. Through this program, she has been able to teach over 3,000 students around the Austin area about the signs of a healthy and unhealthy relationship as well as hone her skills as a public speaker. She is passionate about becoming an epidemiologist which will allow her to continue to inform her community, conduct research, and influence health policy to ensure that underrepresented groups have access to high-quality health care.

While in high school he was the co-founder and president of the Black Awareness club and was a member of the National Honors Society and student council.

Keenia is a KIPP Los Angeles College Preparatory and Felicitas and Gonzalo Mendez High School alumna. She plans on majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish in order to give back to her community of Boyle Heights by advocating for mental health resources and by fighting the negative stigma that surrounds mental health especially in the Latinx community. She aspires to be a Neuroscience researcher or a Neurosurgeon. During her time in high school, she was the President of her school’s National Honor Society and Lead in the Gender Sexuality Alliance Club. She is also a recipient of the College Board AP Scholar Award.

A DC native, Maya attended KIPP DC College Preparatory. It is there where she found her love for acting and writing through the musical theater program. She aspires to major in Mass Communications and minor in Theatre at Montclair State University in order to pursue a career as a journalist while still being involved in the theater world. Her love for writing stems from her desire to inform people about what currently affects our society and the steps we can take in order to solve them. During her time in high school, she joined the student government and took on a major role as the first freshman president, all while acting in all of the school productions. She was voted “Most Spirited”, was a member of the National Honor Society, participated in the dual enrollment program at Trinity University and was a National Thespian Society recipient. Outside of school, she has spent time as a participant and group staff camp counselor for Stem Exelon.

Jaylin is a KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy alumnus in his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jaylin has a deep interest in space, which fuels his desire to study physics and astronomy at Franklin & Marshall College with the hopes of becoming an astronomer or astrophysicist one day. Jaylin is incredibly proud of his academic accomplishments at KIPP DuBois despite various challenges along his journey, and he hopes to be a role model for others as they pursue their dreams.

Martin is a KIPP Texas Collegiate and KIPP Houston High School alum. He intends to major in mechanical engineering and is eager to be involved in cultural organizations, art clubs, and STEM clubs in college. During high school, Martin was an 11th grade student government representative and Senior Class President. He was also involved in the Robotics Club and cultural events such as Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month. In the summer of 2019, he participated in the Georgetown Summer Immersion Program which prepared him for college applications and campus life. Outside of school, he is involved in his community through volunteer events and his Vietnamese youth group.

Demi is a KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy alumna. She plans to major in elementary education with an emphasis in English and minor in Music History. She is eager to become active in her school’s community and volunteer her time at homeless shelters, food banks, and child education centers. While in high school, she completed over 200 hours of community service and played on the Volleyball Team. She was also an intern and camp teacher at The Greenway Foundation’s summer camps and devoted her time to educating children about the environment.

He intends to major in Architecture and continue on his path of strengthening the community he comes from by providing equitable housing and community developments. During his time in high school, he was the captain of the basketball team and was awarded the “Lion of the Month School Award.” He was also a member of the Student Council, Chess Club, and Gardening Club. Outside of school, Menes has been a Youth Development Coach and a camp counselor at Rose Playground in Philly, where he won Counselor of the Year.

She intends to major in the Philosophy, Neuroscience, Psychology program and minor in Spanish and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is eager to get involved in student government and the Black Student Union on campus. During her time in high school, Aaliyah was a member of the KIPP Memphis Collegiate Marching Band. She was also a member of the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and National English Honor Society.

Riham is a KIPP Kansas City and Lincoln College Prep Academy alumna. She will be attending University of Missouri — Kansas City to study Biology with the hopes of becoming a dentist. As the child of immigrants from Iraq, her dream is to open up her own clinic to serve the Arab-American community here in Kansas City. During her time in high school, she volunteered at different non-profit organizations. She also spent her time after school providing one-on-one tutoring to KIPP Endeavor Academy students.

Eunice Beato

Eunice is a KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate alumna. She first became interested in Astrophysics in seventh grade, and aspires to earn her Ph.D. in the field while working at NASA as an expert in black holes. Ultimately, she wants to lead an organization that provides young women of color the tools needed to pursue careers in STEM. During her time in high school, Eunice worked at Raw Art Works, a non-profit art therapy organization dedicated to providing youth the confidence and tools to succeed. She also served as a Teacher Assistant at Prep@Pingree, a summer enrichment program for youth in Massachusetts. She has received several artistic achievement awards and participated in many extracurriculars, including the National Honor Society, Student Council, and her school’s Ambassador Program.

Armando is a KIPP Texas Public Schools — Houston alumnus. He aspires to major in Biology in college, and ultimately would like to work as a food scientist for a vegan food company. He is passionate about his community and finding ways to provide equitable access to healthy foods. During his time in high school, he was very involved on campus, serving on Student Council as Treasurer in 11th Grade and Vice President in 12th Grade. He was also a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Robotics Team, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a co-founder of the Korean Club.

He plans to receive his Bachelor’s in both Education and Latin American Studies, and follow-up by receiving a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy. While in high school, Terrell was the captain of the Step Team and founder of KIPP NYC College Prep’s Black and Brown Pride Club. His leadership is deeply rooted in making a difference in his community by amplifying the voices of those like his.

She was engaged in social justice and activism issues on her campus, and was a part of Dartmouth Bound in the summer of 2018, a program that prepared her for the college application process.

Kennedi is a KIPP Sunnyside High School alumna. She aspires to get her degree in Business so that she is able to open her own global concierge business. She is passionate about community and helping others, and wants to ensure there are more black owned business in communities. During her time in high school, she was a member of the Houston chapter of Top Teens, becoming the chapter’s recording secretary. She was also the captain of the Sunnyside Cheerleading team. Outside of school, Kennedi spent multiple weekends and summers volunteering at different non-profit organizations.
