About the Council
The KIPP National Alumni Council (KNAC) is a team of KIPP Alums who support, develop, and assist in promoting KIPP Alumni Network strategies, mission and vision, programs, and events. KNAC facilitates alumni connections for a lifetime of community, networking, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. KNAC consists of 16 KIPP Alums.
KNAC Timeline
Within the first year, we will be committed to building and executing the vision alongside our National Alumni Council.
January through June 2023:
- Jan. – Feb.: National Alumni Council recruitment
- Mar. – Apr.: Onboarding and strategy summit
- May. – Jun.: FY24 annual planning begins

The KNAC Executive Board members are expected to commit to 2.5 years of service in their seat and 6 months thereafter as another alum transitions onto their seat.
The KNAC Committee Chairs are expected to commit to 1.5 years of service in their seat and 6 months thereafter as another alum transitions onto their seat.
The KNAC Committee Members are expected to commit to a 1-year term with the option to serve another year if they choose.

No, all council positions are volunteer roles that give alumni the opportunity to have a direct impact on KIPP Alumni Network programming.

Not currently. The Alumni Impact and Development teams are still working to develop a grassroots funding structure for Alumni donations to the KIPP Alumni Network.

The Alumni Impact Team is always interested in finding opportunities for alumni to be involved with the ongoing work and mission of KIPP.

Right now, the KIPP National Alumni Council has three alumni who are former Regional Alumni Association leaders. Through our application process, we hope to add 12-14 new seats to the KIPP National Alumni Council.
As our Alumni Network grows, we expect to be able to consider the addition of committees and members to our council.

No, each application must stand on its own merits. Each candidate should have one letter of support from one person who knows them well and can speak to why the applicant would be a great addition to the KNAC.
