KIPP Leadership Pathways Program offers leadership development for succession leaders, founding leaders, emerging leaders and teacher leaders. These offerings are categorized in four distinct leadership development programs, tailored to the roles of the participant. These "pathways" cultivate a team of new leaders at all levels, to ensure the quality of education within a school over the long term.
The Teacher Leader Pathway is designed for KIPP teachers in roles such as Grade-level Chair, Department/Content Chair, Saturday School Coordinator or Field Lesson Coordinator. This Pathway is an opportunity to gain proficiencies in key learning areas while leveraging KIPP's premier "School Leadership Competency Model". This program will prepare you to develop your team's mission, vision, norms and action plans, help you prepare for and lead effective meetings, and teach you new ways to analyze and use data to improve instruction.
The Leadership Team Pathway is an opportunity for those who want to move into senior leadership roles in their schools to create a customized learning plan, pursue an M.A. in educational leadership and an administrative credential through KIPP's partnership with National-Louis University, and have opportunities to dialogue with noted education experts throughout the year.
The Principal Prep Pathway is a program designed to train school leader successors to run KIPP schools for the next generation. This year-long program includes six weeks of intensive training and coursework in a university setting, an opportunity to pursue an M.A. in educational leadership and an administrative credential through KIPP's partnership with National-Louis University, nine days of workshops led by education experts, and monthly professional development calls.
The Miles Family Fellowship is a two-year pathway designed exclusively for individuals who aspire to found and lead a KIPP school. After successfully completing the first year of the program, participants will be considered for the Fisher Fellowship to open and run a new KIPP school in a targeted, high-need community.
