KIPP Empower Academy is founded on the belief that all students can learn and lead lives of significance. All of our students - 112 kindergarteners in 2010-11, and 550 students in kindergarten through fourth grade by 2014 - will be on the path to and through college.
When our students complete fourth grade at KEA, they will be equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in middle school. Our students will take pride in their unique identities and will work hard, be nice, stay strong, and make good choices to fulfill their potential. They will emerge from their years with us empowered and ready to seize upon the vast array of opportunities they find before them.
Our mission is to empower our students to be strong in mind, body, and spirit so that they will thrive in middle school, high school, college, and the competitive world.
Support - As a network of public charter schools, KIPP schools receive the majority of their funds from state and federal governments. However, KIPP offers much more than traditional schools, including an extended school day, week and year, field trips and extracurricular activities. To provide KIPP’s unique educational program, schools rely on support from community members, parents and local foundations.
