KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy (KIPP Adelante) is a small, college-preparatory public school that offers students and parents in Southeastern San Diego an alternative to the low-performing schools in their neighborhoods. We are a public charter authorized by San Diego Unified School District and are open to all students on a first-come, first-served basis. The vision of KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy is to create a diverse community of college-educated individuals.
The mission of KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy is to ensure that our students develop the academic skills, intellectual habits, and character traits needed to succeed in top-quality high schools, colleges, and the competitive world beyond. We use the Spanish word "Adelante" as part of our name so our students and families know that we are focused on getting everyone ahead for college and life.
Support - As a network of public charter schools, KIPP schools receive the majority of their funds from state and federal governments. However, KIPP offers much more than traditional schools, including an extended school day, week and year, field trips and extracurricular activities. To provide KIPP’s unique educational program, schools rely on support from community members, parents and local foundations.
