National Supports

KIPP Through College - Diana  KIPP Through College

KIPP has created a set of national initiatives and programs that are designed to support and provide resources to local KIPP Through College programs across the country.

National Memberships

Local KTC programs have access to national KIPP memberships with organizations such as:

  • College Board
  • Secondary School Admissions Testing Board (SSATB)
  • National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA)
  • National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC)
  • National College Access Network (NCAN)

KIPP collaborates with these organizations to maximize membership benefits for KTC staff, providing them access to college admissions officers and tools to better serve their students.

KIPP College Partnerships

KIPP is establishing innovative partnerships with a range of colleges and universities across the nation to ensure that our students and others from underrepresented communities matriculate, persist, and graduate from college. The ultimate goal is to identify strategies that can be implemented by educational institutions to help close the achievement gap for first-generation students and students of color.

Partnership for College Completion (PCC)

PCC is a pioneering effort to demonstrate what it takes on a broad level to close the college completion gap for low-income families by addressing key college knowledge and financial barriers. KIPP has partnered with United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and Corporation for Economic Development (CFED) to offer KIPP students in five pilot regions access to incentivized college savings accounts, college readiness and financial literacy education, and merit-based college scholarships that will follow students from the sixth grade through to college graduation. The PCC initiative enhances the already strong KTC programming, and offers a robust set of supports that are all critical college completion factors for our students.

Student Leadership & Enrichment

KIPP middle school students have the opportunity to apply for and participate in a set of unique enrichment, leadership development, and scholarship programs that will help prepare them for college. These programs include:

  • Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars program
  • KIPP STEP summer program at Deerfield Academy
  • Doris Fisher KIPPster of the Year Award
  • Student Leadership Summit.

College & Boarding School Connections

This program connects KIPP alumni on college and boarding school campuses with one another and nearby KTC staff. One of the goals is to ensure that students from different regions attending the same boarding school, college, or university know one another before they move into their dorms. Another goal is to inform KIPP schools when KIPP students from different regions are attending a college or boarding school in their area, offering meaningful “home away from home” support.

National Alumni Database

The KIPP Foundation worked with several regions to develop the Alumni Database, a network-wide data management solution that allows KTC staff and others to track, share, and integrate alumni data. The Alumni Database strengthens the local capacity of KIPP Through College while supporting national initiatives by providing the ability to track individual alumni and analyze trends through enhanced reporting.
