KIPP Houston held its 9th Annual Dinner on April 20, 2010, hosting a crowd of nearly 1,200 friends and family. Not only was this the largest crowd to date, it was also the largest dollar amount ever raised at such an event for KIPP Houston, at over $600,000. Some of the highlights of the evening included remarks from the U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, a message of congratulations from Bill Gates, and several current and former KIPP students spoke about their experiences at KIPP. It was exciting and inspiring to see that some of them are giving back to their alma maters working as teachers in KIPP Houston schools.
