Thoughts on being a Fisher Fellow

Mike Kerr led a school in Brooklyn for five years. He is now excited about the opportunity to open a KIPP school on the opposite coast. Through the year-long Fisher Fellowship, Mike is preparing to open and lead an elementary school in Los Angeles.

Mike's experiences growing up in rural New Jersey led him to believe strongly in the power of education. "If there's one word to describe what a school should do for its kids, it's to empower them for the future."
