KIPP Gaston, NC: 100% College Bound!
48 KIPP seniors graduated from North Carolina’s first KIPP high school, KIPP Pride High in Gaston. 100 percent of these KIPPsters are going to college.

AROUND THE KIPP NETWORK
In May KIPP co-founders Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin were awarded the 2009 Charles Bronfman Prize, which recognizes paradigm-shifting vision in education. Feinberg and Levin will use the $100,000 associated with the prize to fund a KIPP-inspired program in an underserved community in northern Israel.

This summer, KIPP will go from 66 to 82 schools—twelve regions across the country will have new schools opening their doors. KIPP welcomes new students from Denver to San Antonio to New York!  Eight new schools will be elementary, and four will be high schools. See all KIPP schools here >>
KIPP has a new class of fellows for the KIPP School Leadership Program! Eleven outstanding individuals were selected for the Miles Family Fellowship, and seventeen candidates were chosen for the Fisher Fellowship. Read more about the program and the 2010 fellows.

KIPP Houston alumna’s tenacity pays off

Eight years ago, Clara Rodriguez walked into KIPP Academy Middle School in Houston, TX with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. She remembers vividly the warm greeting and handshake she received from one of the teachers—a tradition many KIPP schools have adopted to welcome students each morning. And while she was eager to start the fifth grade she was quietly taking in her surroundings and assessing the challenges ahead.

TEAM Schools and local developer partner on new space for Newark Collegiate Academy

By spring 2009, Newark Collegiate Academy (NCA), a KIPP high school in Newark, NJ, was running out of space and running out of time. After two years of sharing a facility with a Newark district school, NCA was feeling challenged by the lack of a gym and scheduling that required students to eat lunch at 10:30AM.
